This is a really interesting reflection and I really understand where you’re coming from ❤️ I feel this way too. But I also am not sure it’s a bad thing? I think maybe the poems are less metaphorical and maybe they’re more about pointing out life - but we see so much more of life than neurotypical folks so I actually think this type of poetry can be our real shining strength.

I’m glad you ‘got it’ Zoe. I struggled to get down on the page what was in my head, the coughing and therefore constant pelvic floor squeezing interfered with the thinking process a bit. 😵💫
